Myth #1: You Can Catch a Mouse with Cheese

This is a myth because mice aren’t fans of cheese. They are interested in how food smells, but they are looking for things that they would ordinarily find in their natural habitats, and this includes grains and fruits. In other words, mice favor foods that are high in sugar, and cheese is not on this list.

Myth #2: Keep Your House Clean and You Won’t Have Pests

It’s true that pests do look for something to eat inside your home. If you leave a smorgasbord of leftover food in your sink, on the counters or on the floor, these pests will invite themselves inside. To avoid this, all that is required is to immediately clean up your eating areas and kitchen after messes are made.

Even those who keep their homes clean can have pests, and this is why it is a myth that a clean house is free of these nuisances. Pests are not always looking for something to eat when they decide to enter your home. Sometimes, they are searching for a warm place to spend the winter. That’s why they infest your home by climbing through the windows and doors or through the cracks in your walls or foundation.

Myth #3: I don’t Have to Worry about the Good Bugs

Lady bugs and honey bees are considered to be good bugs, and homeowners believe that they don’t have to concern themselves if they have an infestation of these insects. However, even lady bugs can be a problem because they can cause significant damage to a house. When they perish, they become magnets for roaches and rodents, and the result can be an infestation of these pests.
